And I like this change, the new product is more pleasant to hold in your hands, but this is my subjective opinion. The case also became slightly thicker (by 0.2 mm - now 7.1 mm) and taller (138.3 mm versus 138.1 mm). The latter can only be tracked on paper.

Unfortunately, the increase in thickness is not associated with an increase in battery capacity. On the contrary, it has “lost weight” - 1715 mAh versus 1810 in the previous generation. Of course, there is no longer any need to talk about increased autonomy. But aluminum is now used in the 7000 series, it is very durable, the most fragile places in the body have become 2 times thicker, 3D Touch technology has appeared (more on that later), and new Taptic Engine vibration motors. The latter really pleased me; they feel different from other smartphones. I don’t know how to put it into words, it needs to be felt. But the sensations are different from the usual ones - it is a sharper, but not straining push.

Another important observation is that the new product has a better build quality. Last year I noticed that on many iPhone 6 and 6 Plus the display is not tightly inserted into the body, and this can be clearly felt in the lower right corner - it comes off. The new product has perfect assembly. There are no other changes, except that there is a new color, Rose Gold, which is what I got.

Display

The screen characteristics have not changed compared to the previous generation. It still has the same 4.7″ diagonal and a non-standard resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels. Pixel density is 326 per inch. Just like last year, purely in terms of performance characteristics, the screen seems outdated, although using a smartphone in real life is still just as convenient. And the dimensions of the device seem optimal for connoisseurs of compact smartphones, because today it is almost impossible to find a flagship in a compact case.

Speaking of frames, they are indeed larger than those in top-end smartphones from competitors, and that’s good. Because with the same SGS6 Edge+ I constantly have problems associated with arbitrary pressing on the edges. The worst thing is when you watch a video on Youtube and it starts jumping chaotically across the timeline. It turns out that your finger is just touching the display. There are no such problems here.

But there are some differences. In a direct comparison, the iPhone 6's display appears slightly dimmer and yellowish. Both models are new, if anything.

3D Touch

This is a major change, and Apple calls this technology no less important than Multi Touch at one time. The beauty is that since the invention of Multi Touch, the way of interacting with the interface has not developed in any way. And 8 years have already passed! All this time we used the touch screen in one plane - we simply swiped across it. Now another plane has been added, and you can press on the screen. In this case, either a context menu is called up, or a link/photo is previewed, and so on. Now the list of actions is not so large, not even all standard applications respond to clicks, but there are already interesting possibilities. And most importantly, even third-party applications are already updated with 3D Touch support. For example, Shazam, Evernote, Instagram, etc. The list of possible uses is huge, the APIs are open to developers. Just imagine how this technology could be implemented in games!

Finally, the number of megapixels has changed from 8 to 12. But you need to understand that the size of the matrix has remained the same, so the detail has increased, but the quality of the photos has not changed significantly. It got better during the day, sometimes even worse in the evening. This makes sense because the smaller the pixel, the less light it absorbs. But I’m still happy with the camera, it’s fast and doesn’t add any Android overhaul. And millions will still use it.

But I can’t help but say about the negative aspects. Why do we see an f2.2 aperture in the best, according to Apple, smartphone in 2015? The Samsung Galaxy S6 and its brothers have f1.9, the LG G4 generally has f1.8. And this can be seen in the photographs, I’m talking about this. I can’t say that things are completely bad, but they are clearly worse than their competitors. We'll do a separate camera comparison soon.

But where the iPhone 6s excels is in video. Firstly, 4K shooting has appeared, but others have this too. The 6s Plus also has optical stabilization, but that's a different story. Secondly, in slow motion mode you can shoot in 1080p at 120 frames per second! No one has learned to shoot properly in 720p, but Apple does it in 1080p without interpolation! This is a test! There is an example in the video review. Finishing about the camera, I attach several photos taken in the same conditions on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6.

It is impossible not to note the front camera. She is now 5 MP, which is very good. Finally, Apple tried at least a little to catch up with everyone. But damn, she writes videos in HD! What's wrong with them? The processor allows it, the matrix allows it, especially why not Full HD? Fail.
